Alera Group 2021 Wellbeing Fair

Employers often find themselves challenged by how to approach a shift from a traditional wellness model to a comprehensive and holistic program that supports the whole person.

Our annual wellbeing fair is designed to help employers and their employees learn more about holistic health. During this fair, you'll have the option to attend various workshop sessions that specifically focus on the six pillars of wellbeing: financial, physical, mental/emotional, social and community and career.

DAY ONE RECAP

  • We kicked off the day with some exercises led by Wellbeats focusing on working our triceps and learning some chair yoga practices. Wellbeats has an exclusive offer to access their expansive course series for free for 60 days to all attendees and their entire organization.

  • Julie Wald of Namaste Wellness guided us through an intentional breathing and meditation practice (being truly present without self-judgement) focused on diaphragmatic breathing to help reduce stress and create a sense of calm.

  • Dan Harrah and Vanessa De Leon of SpringHealth talked with us about the concept of “languishing” and how to shift our mindsets to one of “flourishing” as we navigate the pandemic together. They guided us through some self-assessment techniques to assess our own feelings and how to apply self-care strategies and shared several resources, including The Other Side of Languishing Is Flourishing. Here’s How to Get There. - The New York Times (nytimes.com) and the 60 Seconds of Serenity Facebook Page

  • Our own, Clay Hessel of Alera Group joined us to talk about the concept of “wealth wellness” and when thinking about your own financial wellness, it’s about creating a tailored financial plan and finding a trusted advisor to give you peace of mind.

  • Cassidy Vogel, from DayTwo, gave us some key insights as to why nutrition is so personalized, and some interesting about our body’s unique response to the foods we eat.

  • During our HR-focused Panel Discussion on Mental Health we had some great insights from our mental health experts from NAMI NYC, Total Brain and Spring Health on how employers can approach and refine their mental health strategies to impact the needs of their employees. Here are some resource guides shared for employers and for their employees.

  • We wrapped up the day with a tasty cook-along with Gigi Verrey, whose day job is in Wealth Management, here at Alera Group, but shares her passion for food and cooking through her Very Smart Ideas. You can find her delicious recipe here!
